Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability
In consideration of being permitted to participate in any physical training or coaching provided by Barrett Combatives LLC, including travel to or from any activity or program organized by or affiliated with Barrett Combatives LLC, I voluntarily agree to assume all risks associated with my participation.
Physical Activities and Inherent Risks
I understand that the training may involve physically demanding activities that can result in personal injury. These activities and movements may include, but are not limited to, frequent kicking; bare-fisted punching of training aids such as focus mitts, striking pads, and aggressors; running; direction changes; kneeling; twisting; and bending.
Ground-based movements may also be included, such as aggressor takedowns, ground kicks, choking simulations, and attacker ground-defense techniques. I understand that participation may expose me to injuries including, but not limited to, temporary or permanent muscle soreness, sprains, strains, cuts, abrasions, bruises, ligament or cartilage damage, head, neck, or spinal injuries, loss of use of arms or legs, eye damage, emotional trauma, disfigurement, or death.
I further recognize that both foreseeable and unforeseeable risks of injury, harm, loss, or death may arise from my participation in physical training or coaching provided by Barrett Combatives LLC, including risks that cannot be specifically listed. I also understand that the actions of other participants may cause harm or loss to my person or property, and I agree to assume those risks.
Release of Liability
I, on behalf of myself and my heirs and assigns, hereby release Barrett Combatives LLC and its employees, agents, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, costs, expenses, injuries, or losses, including those resulting from acts of negligence, that I may otherwise sustain as a result of my participation in, travel to or from, or use of Barrett Combatives LLC services or equipment.
I also release Barrett Combatives LLC from any loss or damage to my person or property caused by other users of Barrett Combatives LLC services or equipment. If any part or portion of this Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts or portions shall remain enforceable.
Governing Law and Acknowledgment
This release and all matters related to my activities involving Barrett Combatives LLC shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I have carefully read this Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability and fully understand its contents. I understand that this document is a contract between Barrett Combatives LLC and myself, and I sign it of my own free will.
